Compare vs the WhatsApp Business API
Touchpoint vs the WhatsApp Business API: the honest version.
This is the real decision most teams are making, and it is not really a product comparison — it is a trade-off between official guarantees and practical freedom.
How the WhatsApp Business API describes itself: Meta’s official programmatic channel for business messaging, accessed through a Business Solution Provider.
Choose Touchpoint if
You need it working now, on the number you already use
No approval queue, no templates, no reply window, no per-message cost, and group chats work. Your existing history and existing conversations carry over because it is the same number.
Choose the WhatsApp Business API if
You need official standing and guaranteed delivery
The API is sanctioned by Meta, comes with a verified business profile and formal delivery behaviour, and cannot be interrupted for terms reasons the way an unofficial connection can. For regulated industries, very high volumes, or when procurement demands an official channel, it is the correct answer and we will tell you so.

Comparison pages written by vendors are usually worthless because they only list what the vendor wins. Ours marks every row where the WhatsApp Business API is genuinely the better product.

Questions
Touchpoint vs the WhatsApp Business API
Which should we actually choose?
If you are messaging at enormous scale, operate in a regulated industry, or need a verified business profile and formal delivery guarantees, use the Business API. If your team is having conversations with customers who messaged you first, especially in group chats, the API adds cost and constraints without solving your problem.
What is the real risk of the unofficial route?
Connecting through an unofficial client is not something WhatsApp’s terms formally sanction, and a number can be restricted. The risk concentrates almost entirely in outbound behaviour: bulk sending and cold outreach to people who never messaged you. Reading and replying to inbound conversations is low risk. We explain this fully on our security page rather than burying it.
Can we run both?
Yes, and plenty of teams do — the API for high-volume notifications like order updates, and a shared inbox on a regular number for the human conversations and group chats the API cannot reach.
