How much of your week is nobody covering?
Four numbers, and you can see how many customer conversations arrive when no one is there, how long the longest wait can run, and what each person is carrying.
Your desk
Rough numbers are fine — the shape is what matters.
What that means
This is arithmetic on your own numbers, not an industry benchmark. What it cannot tell you is how many of those conversations were actually answered — which is the number that matters, and the one almost nobody running WhatsApp off a phone can produce.
The assumptions
What this calculation does and doesn’t know.
Stating these plainly is the difference between a useful tool and a lead magnet pretending to be one.
It assumes even arrival
Conversations are spread evenly across the 168-hour week. In reality they cluster — and for international customers they cluster in your night, which makes the real out-of-hours share higher than shown.
It assumes full coverage during hours
Everyone you counted is available for every covered hour. Lunch, meetings, holidays and sick days all push the real figures the wrong way.
It cannot see what was answered
The number that actually matters is how many of these conversations got a reply, and how quickly. No calculator can tell you that — only a system that timestamps both sides can.
It says nothing about money
We could multiply your inputs by an invented close rate and deal value and print a frightening number. It would not mean anything, so we don’t.
The number you actually want
Stop estimating. Start measuring.
Touchpoint reports your real first response time, how many conversations went unanswered past 24 hours, and the load per agent per line — on the WhatsApp numbers you already use. Most teams find the unanswered count is the one that stings.
Questions
About this calculator
What does this calculator actually do?
It does arithmetic on the numbers you enter — how much of the 168-hour week you cover, therefore how many conversations arrive outside it, the longest a message can sit before anyone is at a desk, and the load per person per covered day. Nothing more, and deliberately nothing invented.
Why is there no “lost revenue” figure?
Because we would have to make it up. Any tool that turns four inputs into a dollar amount is applying an industry average it cannot justify for your business. The uncovered-hours number is real and comes from your own inputs; a revenue estimate would not be.
The assumption that messages arrive evenly seems wrong.
It is, and usually in the direction that makes things worse. If your customers are in Asia, Europe or Latin America, arrivals cluster in your night rather than spreading evenly, so the true out-of-hours share is typically higher than this shows.
How would I find my real first response time?
You need a system that timestamps every inbound message and every reply. That is precisely what teams running WhatsApp off a personal phone cannot produce, and it is the first number most of them see when they move to a shared inbox.
